Punctum Times is an irregularly-issued publication published in Wakayama but with roots in the former Punctum Gallery in Tokyo. For their 12th issue the feature the work of Risaku Suzuki. As in his works like Piles of Time and Kumano, this short little work sees Suzuki exploring the animistic rituals and folklore of Japan's native religion, Shintoism, this time in Tohno in Japan's Tohoku region.
Tohno, or Tono, has proven to be a popular subject for photographers over the years, including Daido Moriyama and Masatoshi Naito.
