PANANUFA, by Kowa Ikeuchi

Kowa Ikeuchi's Pananufa is a slim volume of slightly fantastical portraits of different models who appear caked in mud or some heavily applied make-up. They each appear with an equally fantastical flower arrangement by Tomohiro Hatori, and the work amounts to a collaboration of these two artists, a strangely beautiful series of portraits that will remind one of Michiko Kon, Joel-Peter Witkin, and Eikoh Hosoe.
