Miyako Ishiuchi's exploration of two spaces from her past, shot after they had been abandoned. "Club" refers to the EM Club, a nightclub in Yokosuka for US soldiers (Japanese could only enter if they were accompanied by a US serviceman -- "EM" stood for "Enlisted Men"). Ishiuchi visited the club just once, in 1966, but returned in the late 80's to photograph the now-abandoned building. "Courts" refers to the Bayside Court US military housing complex in Yokohama.
