It had apparently made a real impression on him, so when I next found myself in Shinjuku I decided to stop by. As it turned out, the show was “Asadake”...

This March both of the major Japan photo awards, the Domon Ken and Ihei Kimura Awards, were announced. The awards have slightly different focuses, with the Domon Ken prize usually going to older photographers with a large body of work already to their name, while the Ihei Kimura prize tends to reward photographers who show exceptionally bright promise....
