Tokyo Camera Style

Mr. Moriyama and were guests at the wedding of a mutual friend in June- the groom, an editor at Nippon Camera, is a fine photographer in his own right with an excellent photobook that was published by Seigensha back in 2007.

I had heard recently that Moriyama quit shooting Ricoh cameras, and sure enough he had a small, basic little Nikon digital compact on him throughout the evening. Since most of the guests and both of the newlyweds were all photographers it was quite nice when the groom introduced this photographic legend to the room, and asked for some words of advice for photography and life.  Moriyama delivered an impromptu yet classy speech which, like the shot above, was well documented visually.
