In 2004, Yasuhiro Ishimoto donated over 7,000 pieces to the Museum of Art in Kochi Prefecture where he grew up. With the late 2011 exhibition of Ishimoto's Ise and Katsura photographs, the museum began an ambitious project to show the work from their vast Ishimoto collection, which now numbers 15,000. The catalog here was published to coincide with the exhibition.
This modest catalog presents 30 of these photographs, while reprinting in index form over 449 images from the Katsura series and 260 from Ise.
