In this book, published in late, 2009, Aya Fujioka -- in 2005, a Visual Arts Photo Award winner -- uses her hometown as the prevailing setting. Unlike her previous work, much of which has been shot away from Japan, these hometown scenes present a kind of everyday travel record, but one where the way is not quite as clear as perhaps a hometown should be, and where memory darkens the path more than it illuminates.
