Published in June, 2009, of Moriyama's work shot in Hokkaido during three months he spent there in 1978. Reproducing many of the photos that were published in 2008 in a massive "Hokkaido" book by Rathole Gallery (that sells for over $200), the current volume makes for an extremely affordable entry into a part of Moriyama's oeuvre that has only recently been brought to a wider audience.
Book includes 58-minute DVD, featuring an interview (in Japanese only) with Moriyama, played over a slide-show of the photos shot in Hokkaido, many not included in the present volume. (NTSC, Region Free)
