Hand-made leather camera case for Panasonic Lumix GF-1

Bookmark and Share

We are pleased to announce an addition of a Panasonic Lumix GF-1 version to our popular range of hand-made leather camera cases. The Lumix GF-1 is Panasonic’s answer to the Olympus E-P1. Unlike the Digital Pen this Lumix has a much more utilitarian feel, making it the perfect everyday camera. A quality camera case will make this plain and elegant looking camera even more presentable and also protect this valuable camera from external knocks while at the same time be smooth in the hands when using it. A detachable back cover protecting the LCD display is available as an option.

These camera cases handmade by an artisan, one by one, in the old center of Tokyo. Their quality and feel are extraordinary; “Perfume of REAL leather, high quality finish and stitching” writes one satisfied customer.

A unique feature of this case is that the strap attaches to the case, not to the camera as with most other cases. This case effectively cradles your GF-1 safely and gently, safeguarding your investment.

Please note we also carry the official Lumix GF-1 cases made by Panasonic here.

Does the case come with a protective hood?

Hi George, not sure what you mean by “protective hood”. The case is available with an optional detachable back cover that covers the LCD, but it is not a full “ever-ready” case covering the lens as well.

I was looking for something that would protect the lens as well. Any plans to develop something like that?

Hi, a handmade full case is difficult to make so your best option are the original Panasonic cases here.

Note the full cases must be used in conjunction with the body case.

I just received this case in the post today and it is just beautiful! Fits like a glove and is superbly designed, made and finished. A real treasure.

Dirk – a big thanks for the excellent service.

Hello Paul, many thanks for taking the time to provide such kind feedback. I will relay it to the case makers.

The cases are indeed very nice, they totally enhance the camera I think.

Regards and a happy holiday season.

i ordered it today. i guess it’s better to let the camera uncovered; it’s like a guitare, when it’s in the case you don’t want to use it.
i get the GF1 today i will play with him this evening.
thanks you very much dirk, it’s the best case i’ve seen.

Hey are these still available? I don’t see them in the store. I also saw someone sporting a very sexy strap.. does the case come with one? http://blog-imgs-35-origin.fc2.com/m/i/c/mickeyfox/EPSN5628.jpg

Hi, yes it is currently our most popular item. Please click the link in the text above. Strap is included, although the link you supplied is broken so I don’t know if that’s the one.

Hi Dirk! Sorry about that. I’ve included a few shots of it on my blog: http://www.ekoshyun.com/2009/12/panasonic-lumix-gf-1-leather-treatment.html

Hi Dirk, it would be great if you could add a clear, soft but tough plastic window to the rear of the case so the lcd screen was protected but could still be viewed, is this something that would be possible?

James – thanks. I know what you are trying to achieve, but I don’t think it is realistic. Unless the clear film is directly on the screen, the image will be distorted by the plastic film. Why no use an aftermarket screen protector that is already available and insert this into the case? That would solve it elegantly in my view.

Thanks Dirk, I think that would be a good solution. Great looking case by the way – I think the plastic might have not looked so great anyway!
