“When was the last time the biggest rock star on the planet [Bono] interrupted one of his signature songs in a stadium full of screaming people to give a shout out to a fine art photographer [Hiroshi Sugimoto]?” (Via)

If there’s one celebrity more insufferable than Araki, it’s Bono.

Ah yes, the man with the bizarre taste in eye adornment: Bono and friend

This “DLK Collection” interests me, vaguely. The writer puts a huge amount of effort into describing events that I’d have thought would only be of interest to a very small number of very rich people. There’s a link to the author’s own collection, at dlkcollection.com, but there’s no indication that this is anything other than the content of some bank vault somewhere. This seems to be a community of people buying and selling stuff for what they hope will be increasing prices. Odd, because I’d thought capitalism had collapsed, but then again perhaps I’ve been confusing the world in general with Iceland in particular.

“DLK” (nowhere spelled out that I can see) is no patsy: it’s refreshing to read Mr Teller’s insipid and boring pictures described as insipid and boring.

The top page of the blog has a story about an auction that includes photos by Weegee. Something about it drew my attention, and I found myself at this page of the auction listing, which shows the 1953 Ars Camera Annual with an estimate in the order of ten times what I think is the going rate. I’ll have to remember to pick up a few copies.
